ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Steve
WHERE I COME FROM
Steve Cecco is a longtime resident of Albuquerque. For three decades, Steve has lived in APS District 4 with his wife, Faye. Together, Steve and Faye have four children who have all encountered Albuquerque Public Schools. A devoted family man and small business owner, Steve is deeply invested in his community.
His commitment to Albuquerque shines through his involvement in several meaningful projects, including the Title1 homeless project and Feed New Mexico Kids. In recognition of his commitment to community service, Steve has received the Good Neighbor award from the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors on two occasions, reflecting his commitment to making a positive impact in Albuquerque.
In addition to his community involvement, Steve serves as the President of his trade association. He has also shared his expertise and leadership as a scout troop leader and a coach for his children's sports teams.
With deep roots in Albuquerque and a passion for serving others, Steve Cecco understands the needs of APS District 4 and is ready to prioritize student success as a board member.

KEY ISSUES
PRIORITIZE STUDENT SUCESS
The recent transition to student outcomes focused governance by the APS Board is a step in the right direction. As a board member, I will build on this work by continuing to ensure that we prioritize student outcomes. The focus should always be on our students' success.
The implementation of the APS Emerging Stronger Strategic Plan is exciting and necessary to get APS back on track. As a board member, I will fully engage in following and ensuring each goal is met.
STRENGTHEN PARENT ENGAGEMENT
To improve student outcomes and our district, parent engagement is crucial. As a board member, I will work to foster and strengthen parent engagement. In what ways do you want to strengthen parent engagement?
INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY OPTIONS
I believe that your zip code should not determine your education. As a board member, I will work to ensure every parent has a choice in their child’s education. How has your family benefitted from school choice?
